Confirmation

A person in a white robe stands in prayer, hands pressed together, holding a rosary with a cross.

Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the Sacraments of Christian Initiation, whose unity must be safeguarded.  It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace.  As outlined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed" (CCC 1285).  To receive more information on the Sacrament of Confirmation for youth, email Megan Byers or call 210-494-1606, ext. 332.

For adults who have received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion but have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation, email Rita Cabello for Adult Confirmation preparation.
